My Favorite White Paints

Finding the right white paint is one of the most common struggles we hear from clients, and for good reason. As an interior designer, white is one of the most essential colors I work with, whether it's for kitchen cabinets, interior walls, or trim. The good news is that after years of testing, sampling, and living with these colors in real homes, I have a shortlist of no-fail favorites. A few of these names may already sound familiar, which says a lot about why they've remained go-to whites year after year.

I'm partial to Benjamin Moore and Farrow & Ball, because the quality and weight of their paints hold up beautifully over time. But I'm also including a few other brands that offer great color and value, especially for those larger paint projects you might have planned.

Still not sure which one is right for your space? Schedule a consultation and I would be happy to help you narrow things down.

WARM WHITES

If you're drawn to a warm, creamy white, Benjamin Moore's Floral White offers soft red undertones for a classic, traditional feel. It works beautifully as a whole-house color and reads lovely at every hour of the day. I've found it to be the warmest white that still avoids feeling too yellow, even in rooms with limited natural light. Another favorite is Sherwin Williams' Creamy, a soft, livable neutral.

BRIGHT WHITES

For a minimal, modern look with a fresh, untinted finish, turn to Benjamin Moore's Chantilly Lace or Decorator’s White. Both are clean and bright on walls, ceilings, trim, and cabinetry, without ever feeling clinical.

CLASSIC WHITES

These are the tried-and-true, designer-approved shades. Benjamin Moore's Simply White and White Dove, or Sherwin Williams' Snowbound all deliver a clean, classic look without feeling sterile. They work as a flexible medium-toned base for nearly any style.
